THE LACROSSE PROGRAM IS NOW IN SESSION

What better way to start of the school year then a day field trip to the Minto Cup in Okotoks to watch Ontario, BC, and two Alberta teams compete in round robin games?
Close to 40 student-athletes, staff and parents hopped on the bus to make the trip to see the best junior aged lacrosse players in Canada play for one of Canada's most prestigious championships. It was a great trip and allowed our students to watch former Lacrosse Program alumni play in the Minto Cup. Those alumni include Kirby Zdrill (Yale), Kevin Pym, Darren Bourret, and Cole Sheen (Pfeiffer University). The tournament also included Travis Comeau (Georgetown) a former staff member of The Lacrosse Program. The tempo was lightning fast and the skill was outstanding. It was definitely was motivating for our student-athletes and we are now ready to hit the field to begin our fall field lacrosse module.

RUSH Spring Break Camp
What is Vimy Lacrosse?
VIMY LACROSSE, now in its 5th year, is a sport alternative program for Grades 7 to 12, operating in partnership with the Edmonton Public School Board. VIMY LACROSSE has been created to provide a training ground to develop players into Canada’s best lacrosse players. Student-athletes in the program combine their academic and lacrosse pursuits within the school environment. Student-athletes receive 200 hours of direct lacrosse instruction over the school year.
Our program has been extremely successful in developing strong students and lacrosse players. VIMY LACROSSE boasts 16 players that have played at National Championships on Team Alberta in either box lacrosse or field lacrosse. Three of our students, Kirby Zdrill, Matt Pick and Eric Ransom are now pursuing their academic and athletic careers as post secondary institutions. Kirby is attending Yale University, Matt is attending Whittier College and Eric is attending Simon Fraser University. Two other students, Tyler Fleury and Eric Turner are attending The Hill Academy, a prep school in Ontario. We are proud of these students and the work they put in VIMY LACROSSE to get where they are today.
If you are interested in turning the corner with your academics and your joy of lacrosse, then VIMY LACROSSE is for you. For registration information please visit the apply now section of the website.
"Jimmy Quinlan and Paul Rai have created an inspiring environment for developing the individual and team skill sets a player requires to compete at the highest level. I attribute the appetite my son has to attend The Lacrosse Program at Vimy Ridge Academy to the Character, Heart and Passion for which Jimmy and Paul bring not only to the floor but also the demands they expect for academic achievment. They demand hard work and hold the athletes accountable."
Dave Pym - Father of VIMY LACROSSE Student-Athlete and Head Coach – Calgary Roughnecks of the National Lacrosse League.
